Hello and welcome to my website. I am an HCPC registered, Bristol-based music therapist with extensive experience of working with all ages and abilities across a broad range of settings.

Music therapy is an evidence-based practice which uses the special qualities of music to support those facing challenges at any stage of life. It offers a space for people to safely express, contain and process any distress and troubling behaviours which may understandably arise within difficult life circumstances.
I work collaboratively with neurodivergent folks (including ASC, LD and ADHD) to create individualised therapeutic pathways built on trust, a sense of play, and an acknowledgement of the challenges of navigating an ableist world.Using shared music-making and creativity to promote self-expression, insight and confidence, I connect with people facing mental health difficulties, complex trauma and attachment issues.I offer tailored therapeutic interventions and draw from many theoretical models including psychodynamic theories, community music therapy, trauma-informed care, post-ableism, the social model of disability and The Power Threat Meaning Framework.I employ a person-centred approach, meaning that the sessions are largely led by the participant and the focus of the work emerges collaboratively.

I believe that music offers a way for us to safely express ourselves beyond the reach of words. Since training at UWE in Bristol, I have gained experience of working with children and adults across a broad range of contexts.I have had the privilege to learn from bicultural practice and holistic, indigenous wellbeing models in Aotearoa/New Zealand, where I practiced music therapy for two years.Currently I am working at the Apricot Centre in Devon. Alongside this I am growing my private practice in my hometown of Bristol.Working as a community musician within the prison service, I witnessed the socially empowering effect music can have for participants. In my view, an empathic, person-centred approach that promotes self-expression and reflection holds enormous therapeutic and restorative potential.Prior to music therapy training, I worked extensively in the creative arts as an actor, musician, composer and creative facilitator. From this experience, I began working in theatre productions tailored for young people with complex needs. This led me to recognise the benefits of using music and creativity to build meaningful connections, setting me on the journey to become a music therapist.I enjoy playing the guitar, electronic music production, and connecting with nature through cycling, running and hiking.
“Thanks so much for your time and sharing and connecting… and for motivating and inspiring our babies physically emotionally spiritually and developmentally!!”Ohomairangi Trust (Aotearoa/New Zealand)“Thank you for the incredible work you have done. Your passion, creativity, and dedication have made such a difference in the lives of our learners, bringing joy, confidence, and connection through music.”Sommerville SEN School
